The incident happened in Karanja village under Marshaghai police station jurisdiction, about 30 km from here. Four of the injured persons are undergoing treatment at the Kendrapara district headquarters hospital while two others who sustained minor injury were discharged from the nearby government-run primary health centre.

"The violence occurred on Monday evening. It was related to the recently concluded panchayat polls. Police forces have rushed to the village.
