SBI ATM loot bid foiled by gym man

Keonjhar: An attempt by a miscreant to loot the State Bank of India (SBI) ATM near Baniapata Chhak under Town police limits in the district in the wee hours today was foiled, thanks to the efforts of a man guarding a nearby fitness center.

According to sources, a miscreant tried to break open the ATM machine after entering the kiosk at around 4 am today.
However, after hearing an explosion-like sound from inside the ATM, a man from the nearby gym rushed to see what actually has happened.

As soon he raised an alarm and shouted 'Police Police' to scare the miscreant, the latter attacked him and fled the scene. Till last report was filed, the locals alleged that despite having informed the police about the loot bid, none reached to look into the matter.

In January, a similar incident had happened when a group of miscreants attempted to loot the SBI at Jamankira in Sambalpur. Though the miscreants entered the bank premises by breaking open the windows, they had to abort their plans after security alarm of the bank went off.
