Bhubaneswar: Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has contributed Rs 20 lakh towards further development of the Netaji Birth Place Museum at Cuttack. A cheque for the amount was presented by the company`s CEO G S Prasad to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik recently, RSP sources said today.

The ancestral house of eminent freedom fighter Netaji Subash Chandra Bose at Odia Bazar, Cuttack, where he had spent the early years of his life has been converted into a museum. Apart from the objects used by Netaji, the museum also showcases many important documents related to his fight for the freedom of the Motherland and the letters written by him during that period. Earlier in 2008 Rourkela Steel Plant had given Rs 10 lakhs for the museum. The money given now will be used for the light and sound show at the museum.
