Bhubaneswar: With the death of one more elephant on Wednesday, the number of jumbo deaths in the past two weeks has gone up to five.

Today, carcass of a female elephant was found at Kamarda forest under Mahabi Road forest range in Kamakshyanagar. Though the exact reason of death is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the pachyderm might have died due to old age.

It may be mentioned here that five elephants have died in the last eleven days. On March 26, two jumbos were electrocuted to death at Bhanjanagar in Ganjam. After a gap of nine days, two more elephants were killed on April 4. And today one more elephant was found dead in Kamakshyanagar.
