Big catch! Giant fish weighing 500kg netted in Digha

A group of fishermen hit the jackpot as they caught a gigantic fish weighing around 500 kg in Digha of neighbouring West Bengal.
The fishermen netted the fish locally known as Chil Sankha (stingray) while fishing in the sea off Digha on the Odisha-West Bengal border.

Fishermen expressed surprise as they said that catching such a huge fish is rare. Locals thronged to the beach to get a glimpse of the enormous fish. Many clicked pictures and took videos to post on social media.

Later, the fish was taken to the local auction centre where it was sold for a whopping Rs 20,000. A Kolkata-based company bought the fish.

The fishermen expressed their joy for landing such a big catch after a long time.
