Puri: A local court has issued a non-bailable warrant against a suspended police inspector absconding for the past 13 days.

Judicial Magistrate Nimapara issued the NBW on Tuesday against Bimal Nayak who was caught by vigilance officials while taking Rs 5000 from a local resident on January 6.

Nayak, however, was forcibly freed from the Nimpara police station by a group of people the same day. The vigilance department moved the court after it failed to trace the suspended police inspector.
