Kendrapara: A road accident claimed the life of a teenage girl close to Kendrapara district collector`s official residence and sparked off mob violence today. A laden truck hit a motorcycle and ran over a 20 year-old girl near Garapur, close to the district collector`s official residence, killing her on the spot, police said.
The girl`s relative, who was on the motorcycle, sustained multiple head injury and shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack in a critical condition. Irate locals set ablaze the truck and pelted stones at vehicles passing through the Cuttack-Chandbali state highway disrupting traffic on it, the police said. Later police reached the spot, dispersed the mob and restored vehicular traffic on the highway.
