Cuttack: Five boys of Sitadevi Joglekar Upgraded Middle English School here, who went missing since Friday afternoon, returned back to their homes on Saturday evening much to the relief of their parents and relatives who were in a state despair for last 24 hours.

The Class VII students of local Aparnanagar under Chauliaganj police station had left for the Holy town of Puri after their school hours on Friday without informing anyone.

After spending the night in the Temple town they returned back to their homes this evening, informed local police inspector S K Mohapatra.

According to sources, the students made a plan during the school hours to go to Puri when one of the students disclosed that he had Rs 250 with him that was given to him by his mother for tuition fees. Another student also arranged Rs 100 from his home and they left for Puri.

Their parents came to know about it when the students did not return home by evening. A frantic search was launched by friends and relatives and late in the evening they reported the matter to police after a futile search for them at their friends and relatives house.

The local police with the help of General Railway Police (GRP) also looked for the boys at railway stations and searched long distance trains. It was however, in the evening all five students came back to their homes setting all speculations about their missing to rest.
