Bhubneswar: Mild tremors were felt in many parts of the state following a massive earthquake that hit Indonesia today afternoon measuring 8.7 in Richter scale. According to reports, tremors were felt in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Khurda, Kendrapara and Balugaon.


The epi-centre of the massive earthquake was in South-East Asia and its effects were felt in major parts of India like Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Andman and Nicobar Islands. While Tunami alert has been sounded in as many as 28 countries India has issued high alert for Andaman and Nicobar islands and Tamil Nadu.
