Bhubaneswar:  The Board of Secondary Education, which conducted the Odisha matriculation examinations declared the results on Friday.

The total pass percentage is 62.99; whereas, the pass percentage for regular is 66.75 and ex-regular is 37.45.

The number of students who achieved first class are 54, 464; 76,962 obtained second class, while 1, 42, 354 students passed in third class.

Sarthak Pradhan of Saraswati Sishu Mandir, Bolangir topped the examination with 586 marks.

The printed copies of the result booklets are available at 33 centres across the state. The board has printed at least 5,000 result booklets this year.  Students can also access their results online at bseorissa.in and orissaresults.nic.in, through mobile phones and SMSes.

For the first time, the Board has decided to hand out the mark sheets and certificates within seven days of the publication of the results.

 At least 4.86 lakh students had appeared for the examination this year. Like always, the top 100 list of students would also be published this year.

The students who secured the top five positions are as follows:

2. Debashish Pradhan of Angul High School, Angul - 582                

3. Tarunkanti Behera of Saraswati Sishu Bidya Mandir, Ramaharinagar - 580

4. Roshan Pati of Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Gandhimarg,  Angul - 579

4. Ayaskant Rout of Saraswati Sishu VidyaMandir,Gandhi chawk -579

5.  Ashwini Kumar Panda of Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Gosaninuagaon -578
