Sambalpur: A massive fire broke out today morning at the Warehouse Number 3 of Food Corporation of India(FCI) in Hirakud completely destroying over 300 bags of rice. The devastating fire broke out in Chamber-A and Chamber-B of the Number-12   storeroom of the warehouse. Fire tenders took over three to control the fire.

Rescures removed remaining rice sacks from the fire. Though the exact reason of the fire was yet to be ascertained, it was suspected that fire broke out owing to electrical short-circuit. Senior officials of FCI reached the spot to estimate exact amount of losses due to fire.
