Man Thrashed For Rape Attempt On Minor Girl In Odisha

Baripada: A man was thrashed black and blue by locals for allegedly attempting to rape a minor girl at Banasahi under Karanjia of Mayurbhanj district.

According to sources, the accused went to the house of the minor girl on Sunday when her parents were out on some work. Taking advantage of the situation, the accused lured the girl with money and allegedly tried to rape her.

Fortunately, however, the parents of the girl reached home and caught the accused. They along with fellow villagers thrashed the accused. Later, police reached the spot and took the accused into custody.

“The accused had earlier made a similar attempt and we had let him go with a warning. However, this time we did not spare him and thrashed him,” said a resident.
