Bhubaneswar: Hi-Tech Group MD Tirupati Panigrahi was arrested by the Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch on Saturday after an FIR was registered on December 23 against the controversial businessman and his associates.
The complainant, whose identity has not been disclosed by the CB, has alleged in the FIR that he paid Rs 1.80 lakh in installments to buy four plots in Sundarpada area of Bhubaneswar to Rajdhani Systems and Promoters Pvt Ltd. The installments were paid between 2003 and 2009.
But complainant got neither any plots till now nor he got back his money. On the other hand, the complainant alleged that he got threats from the company officials. Tirupati Panigrahi is the managing director of Rajdhani Systems and Promoters Pvt Ltd, which is a sister concern of Hi-Tech group.
Crime Branch ADG BK Sharma while addressing a press meet here said, “After examining oral witnesses as well as documents and copy of the agreement, Tirupati Panigrahi was arrested. If the Crime Branch receives similar complaints, the scope of the probe will be further widened”
