Girl's body found on rail tracks, kin allege murder

Khurda: A 17-year old girl was found dead on the rail tracks near Kuhudi station in the district today.

The victim, identified as Saswati Priyadarshini of Sananairia village near Chilika, was an intermediate student of Ravenshaw junior college in Cuttack.

Saswati left her home to board a train for Cuttack at Balugaon station yesterday. She remained untraceable since leaving home and her mobile was switched off.

Local people traced her body lying on the track today and informed the police. Tangi police reached the spot and seized the body for post mortem.

Meanwhile, family members of the deceased alleged that she had been murdered.
