Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday predicted rainfall accompanied with lightning in some coastal and interior districts of Odisha due to formation of a fresh low pressure system near Andhra Pradesh coast.
“Few districts of coastal and interior Odisha have been receiving light to moderate rainfall due to effect of a cyclonic circulation and under the impact of a fresh low pressure near Andhra Pradesh coast in next 12 hours, areas of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Bolangir and Kalahandi districts might witness more rainfall activity accompanied with thunderstorm," said Duty Officer of Regional Met Centre Madan Mohan Das.
The weatherman further informed that till date, Odisha has received 2 per cent surplus rainfall this monsoon season.

Earlier, the weather department had warned lightning and rainfall alert for ten districts including Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Puri, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Khurda and Malkangiri districts till 1.30 PM today.
