Eviction drive undertaken by CMC in Badambadi area

Cuttack: An anti-encroachment drive was undertaken by the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) in Badambadi area of the city today.

According to sources, two platoons of police force were deployed at the spot to avoid any kind of untoward incident.

The drive was carried out following encroachment of government land by several shops and establishments in the area.

"This was the second phase of our anti-encroachment drive. We began from Badambadi square and covered till Hotel Bishal. Many drains have not been de-silted because of encroachments," Secretary of CMC Namita Biswal said.
