Kalahandi: With at least 82 Dengue positive cases, the vector-borne disease has assumed serious proportions at Ladugaon and its neighbouring villages under Koksara block in Kalahandi district.

“Out of 500 blood samples collected, 82 have tested dengue positive,”said Kalahandi Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO), Dr Saroj Tihadi.

While 15 dengue affected persons are undergoing treatment at Kalahandi District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Bhawanipatna, one has been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack (SCBMCH), sources said.

Some affected persons are undergoing treatment at their homes while a few have opted for private hospitals outside the State.

“The health conditions of all the patients are stable, except one, who has been shifted to SCB Hospital for treatment, added Tihadi.

With situation spiralling out of control, a state-level medical team has rushed the spot to conduct survey and take required measures to contain the disease.
