Bolangir: A police personnel was injured in an exchange of fire with Maoists near Gandhmardan Hill in Bolangir district today, police said. The red rebels fired when the team of District Voluntary Force (DVF) was returning to their camp after a combing operation near the hill in Khaprakhol police station area, police said.

The securitymen retaliated in self defence leading to a brief exchange of fire in which a DVF jawan was injured, police said. The injured jawan was admitted to a hospital nearby. The ultras disappeared into dense forest.
