Chandrasekhar gets Sahitya Bharati Samman

Cuttack: Renowned litterateur Chandrasekhar Rath would receive the prestigious Sahitya Bharati Samman-2011 for his distinguished contributions to Odia literature. This was announced by Gangadhar Rath Foundation Trust which has been honouring every year to eminent persons in the field of Odia literature.

The award given by the Trust carries a cash award of Rs one lakh, a filigree memento of Sun Temple of Konark and a citation.

Announcing the names of other award winners of the year, Trust president Jayanta Rath informed that the awards would be conferred on all the winners at a special function to be held at Kala Vikash Kendra here on March 18.

"Governor Muralidhar Chandrakant Bhandare would confer the honours and awards on the winners in a special function which would be also attended by Jatindra Kumar Naik as chief speaker," Rath informed. He further announced that Dr Minati Mishra, eminent Odissi dancer has been selected to receive Dr Gangadhar Rath Smaraki Samman-2011.
