Bhubaneswar: In a bid to check the fake certificate menace, Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) has decided to conduct a verification of certificates submitted by its employees.

In a letter to all district Collectors, the State Project Director of OSEPA Bhupendra Singh Poonia has asked to verify certificates and mark sheets of employees working with it at different levels including in its State Project Offices (SPOs), District Project Offices (DPOs) and block level offices.

Poonia stated that there were allegations regarding the submission of fake certificates and mark sheets by the employees during their engagement under erstwhile Odisha Primary Education Programme Authority (OPEPA)/OSEPA.

“As the matter is very important, it is required to take immediate action on this issue to stop such practices,” said Poonia in the letter.

Collectors have been asked to take immediate steps to meticulously verify the certificates and mark sheets of the employees submitted by them at the time of their appointments. After verification by the Collectors, the District Project Coordinators of OSEPA will send the certificates to the concerned colleges and universities for further verification.

The State Project Director also warned that if any fake certificates are found to be submitted by the employees working under OPEPA/OSEPA, FIR will be filed against the concerned person. Disciplinary action will be against the concerned employee which may even lead to suspension and dismissal from the job.

After verification by the Collectors, the District Project Coordinators of OSEPA will send the certificates and mark sheets to the concerned board, council, universities, institutions or organizations, in or outside the State, from where the same have been issued in favour of the employees.

The district Collectors have been asked to verify the certificates and submit the action taken reports within two months.
