Puri: A tourist on Tuesday got a new lease of life after three lifeguards saved him from drowning in Puri sea. The tourist Raja Sahu of Bhubaneswar reportedly was dragged into the sea by strong currents while he was taking bath.

On seeing the tourist drowning, three lifeguards deployed at the beach immediately swung into action. With the help of tubes and other equipment, the lifeguards pulled Sahu from the deep waters.

The entire rescue operation by the three lifeguards- Lalat Behera, G. Jagdish and G. Balaji was captured on camera.

It is pertinent to mention here that lifeguards have been deployed at several parts of Puri beach for the safety and security of tourists.

Time and again, tourists are being warned not to venture into deep sea as a precautionary measure, sources said.
