Bhubaneswar: Expressing solidarity with the Delhi and Bhubaneswar gang-rape victims, hundreds of students from across the State took out a candlelight rally here on Saturday demanding exemplary punishment for the rapists and security for women.

BPUT Students’ Association accompanied by representatives from various colleges of the state marched to Ram Mandir square from Master Canteen with candles and banners demanding justice to the victims and severe punishment to the culprits.

“Government should leave the culprits to us so that we can decide their fate”, said a rallyst.

On December 16, a 23-year-old paramedical student was allegedly gang-raped in a moving bus in Delhi. Three day after the shocking incident in national capital city, a similar incident occurred in the state capital where a 19-year-old dancer hired for a stage-show was allegedly raped by four youths.
