Bhubaneswar:  Former union minister Braja Kishore Tripathy on Monday formally floated a new political party named ‘Samata Kranti Dal’ in Odisha appointing MLA Geroge Tirky as its president.
 
“Samata Kranti Dal formally got born today to fight against the problems of the people. Corruption continues to rise in the country. The condition of the poor people has become deplorable. So, the party will work to form a society on basis of equality”, Tripathy said after announcing about the formation of his party.
 
Born on 25, September, 1947, Tripathy had represented the 14th Lok Sabha from Puri constituency as a member of Biju Janata Dal. Later, he joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after resigning from BJD. Tripathy was a cabinet minister in NDA government during 13th Lok Sabha.
