Bolangir: Pressing for their longstanding demand for establishment of permanent High Court bench in Bolangir, the District Lawyers' Association has called for a two-day bandh in all government offices and banks.

While all the government offices, banks and post offices in the district have been shut down, shops and business establishments are exempted from the bandh. Schools, colleges and other educational institutions have also remained open.

According to reports, the lawyers' association had earlier decided to call for strike on Wednesday and Thursday in the third week of every month. The Sambalpur Lawyers' Association is also observing a three-day bandh on the last three working days of every month.

Similarly, the agitating lawyers in undivided Koraput district have been observing cease work strike for the last 11 months.

The Berhampur Lawyers' Association is also observing cease work strike for four days every month.
