Bike-borne miscreant loots Rs 5.15 lakh from businessman in Cuttack

Cuttack: An unidentified bike-borne miscreant allegedly looted Rs 5.15 lakh from a businessman in Malgodown area of the town late night on Thursday.

According to sources, Ajit Panigrahy who owns a business in Malgodown area was returning to his house late yesterday night when suddenly a bike-borne person way laid him and snatched a cash bag from his possession containing Rs 5.5 lakh and immediately fled the spot.

Following the incident, Panigrahy lodged a written complaint at Malgodown Police Station. The cops have launched a probe to nab the miscreant.

In a similar incident, four bike-borne miscreants allegedly looted Rs 60 lakh from the officials of a private company working for a bank near Godiapali under Begunia Police limits in Khurda yesterday evening.
