BEWARE! Fake Video With OTV Logo Circulating Ahead Of Patkura Election

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the Patkura poll tomorrow, a fake video clipping with OTV logo purportedly showing a clash between supporters of BJP national vice president Jay Panda and party candidate Bijoy Mohapatra is being circulated on social media.

In this fake news clipping, it is being said that the BJP has announced its party candidate Mohapatra as incompetent.

While the source of the video is yet to be ascertained, OTV has demanded action against the miscreants involved in creating and circulating such fake video. OTV said an attempt is being made to malign the image of the channel and it will take legal recourse to ensure stern action against those involved. The channel has urged its viewers not to get influenced and refer the OTV channel, website and mobile app for authentic news.

On the other hand, Baijayant Panda has demanded action against the miscreants. Panda took to Twitter and said, "This is not just fake news, but a criminal conspiracy on the eve of tomorrow's #PatkuraElection to influence voters. As anyone who follows Odisha politics knows, i have fully supported & campaigned for Shri Bijay Mohapatra. The Odisha Assembly needs him".

The Patkura election is scheduled to be held in a few hours time tomorrow (July 20).
