Rourkela: Two persons were gunned down on late Friday night at Thakeitangara under Talsara police limits in Sundergarh district. Police have suspected that ‘Pahadi Chita Gang’ might have committed the crime.
Police sources said 10 to 12 people called Rajkumar Khuntia and Patara dungudunga out of their house and shot them killing on the spot. The gang whose two members were killed in police encounter recently might have committed such ghastly act in a fit of revenge, police said, adding the gang suspected both of them as police informer.
Later, the criminals hurled bomb in the village to terrorize the people before leaving the area.
One member of the gang was killed by police on last Wednesday while another member on Friday received bullet injuries during an encounter. However, he died in the hospital during treatment. Police also arrested another member on Friday.
