Berhampur: Digapahandi deputy ranger Pramod Khadagray was suspended on Monday for allegedly tying and carrying a crocodile on his bike after rescuing it from a paddy filed in Talasingi village last week.

The regional chief conservator of forests, Prashant Mishra informed that the suspension followed after it was alleged that Khadagray violated the Sandard Operating Procedure (SOP) while rescuing the crocodile.

Khadagray along with police personnel reportedly caught the crocodile from the paddy field and released it in the Ghodahada Dam.

The crocodile reportedly got swept across from the dam through connecting canals.
