Angul: A group of Maoists brutally murdered a person in Patamunda village here last night suspecting him to be a police informer. This is the first instance of violence caused by Maoists in the district.
According to sources, victim Samuel Bodra was called out from his house by five Maoists around 9 pm on Thursday on the pretext of a meeting and taken to a nearby place where he was assaulted with a sharp-edged weapon.
Bodra was found to have been killed with his hands tied. Eight Maoist posters were found lying near the spot that claimed that the killers belong to Kalinganagar division of the ultras’ organization, the sources added.
