Rourkela: Two students of a residential school died of snake bite at Tilia in Orissa`s Sundargarh district, about 20 km from here in the early hours today, police said.

The victims were bitten by a snake in Tilia Sevashram school hostel in the early hours while they were asleep. The other inmates of the hostel woke-up after hearing their cries and killed the snake.

The students were identified as Arjun Dandasena (13), a class 7 student of Telijore village and Raju Nayak (12), a class 6 student of Simdega village, both under Talsara police limit.

The bodies were sent for post mortem.
