Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB) and Commissionerate Police on Tuesday conducted joint checking at various Holi color shops in the capital city to prevent sale of synthetic and chemical colours.

Acting on a tip off about the sale of synthetic and chemical colours, a six-member team of Commissionerate Police and OSPCB conducted checking at various colour shops and seized the colours which could have adverse effect on the human skin.

Besides, the team also asked the colour shop owners selling colours without necessary license to shut down their shops, sources said.
