Cuttack: After halting the mass transfer of Class IV employees of SCB medical college and hospital, state government has made it clear that there would be a fresh relocation of these employees in different departments in a phased manner.

This was announced by the revenue divisional commissioner (RDC) Arvind Padhee reiterating that the axe would fall on indisciplined employees first.

Padhee had on Thursday stepped in to restore normalcy in the Hospital after it was paralysed for over six hours as Class IV employees had ceased work protesting against their proposed mass transfers.

The State government had earlier decided to go for an inter-departmental transfer of the employees on administrative grounds and a list of over 600 employees was shortlisted.

The RDC after holding a high-level meeting with professors and heads of the department in the hospital yesterday decided that a fresh list would be made for effecting redeployment of the employees in phased manner.

There are allegations galore that some class IV employees of certain departments are developing vested interests and are engaged in indiscipline bringing a bad name to the hospital. In order to check their unprofessional behavior, the redeployment is necessary, Padhee said.
