Pradhan Writes To Goyal On Relocation Of Badakamar-Parjang RUB

Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has written to Cabinet colleague & Railway Minister Piyush Goyal seeking his intervention into the issue pertaining to relocation/modification of RUB (underpass) in Dhenkanal, Odisha.

The RUB at 8/600 km of Badakamar -Pangatira Road in Parjang which is being constructed to divert the PWD road has been experiencing a water-logging issue during rainy season, leading to traffic congestion.

Around 1.5 lakh people dependent on this road for daily commutation have been facing teething problems due to accumulation of water. Moreover, the current design of underpass may not cater to the future increase in traffic, Pradhan mentioned.

Acting upon a petition by the residents of Parjang Assembly Constituency in Dhenkanal in this regard, Pradhan has sought Goyal's personal intervention in changing the RUB to the original PWD road alignment by modifying the design to accommodate necessary drainage system and future traffic load.
