Bhubaneswar: Intensifying its search operation to nab top Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda, Gajapati police on Saturday released a wanted poster of Panda declaring monetary reward for information about him.

Panda, who escaped from the camp during an encounter in Bhaliaguda of Gajapati district with Ganjam and Gajapati police on November 14, has been reportedly injured and is hiding from police, said sources. "We have released posters in order to get information about Panda," said Ganjam Superintendent of Police.

After gunning down five Maoists during an encounter in Bhaliaguda, the police on Friday released sketches of six associates of Panda declaring reward for information about them. The reward announced for the Maoists includes Aruna, Krishna, Andrew Majhi, Pramod Majhi, Pratap Nayak and Pami Majhi.

On the other hand, police have stepped up search operations in different areas at Kandhamal – Rayagada border including Brahmanigan, Subarnagiri of Kotagarh, Srirampur, Matikeda and Durgapanga. Top Odisha police officials including Ganjam SP Ashish Singh reached Mohana to nab Maoist leader Sabyasachi.
