An unknown packet kept in front of a villager's house in Bhalupatra exploded injuring one person identified as C.H. Nagabhusan, informed Bargarh SP Mukesh Kumar Bhamoo.

Bargarh SDPO Suresh Naik stated, "As per information, a packet was kept on the boundary wall of the house of C.H. Nagabhusan. After Nagabhusan's daughter told him about the packet he went to examine it. While examining the packet exploded. We have found iron nails and cloth pieces from the spot. Today's parcel bomb explosion was reminiscent of the Patnagarh wedding gift blast case in which a newly-wed groom and his grandmother lost their lives. Wife of the groom sustained serious injuries in the blast case which occurred on February 23.
