Woman engineer killed, in-laws’ hand suspected

Burla: A woman engineer was murdered here and the family of the deceased has alleged that her in-laws are behind the dastardly act.

The woman, Deepika, and her husband were earlier working in a software firm in Bhubaneswar. For the last few months, she has been staying with her parents-in-law in Burla leaving her job.

She was staying in a government quarter inside the campus of Sambalpur University, where her mother-in-law works. Her father-in-law is a retired employee of the same university.

Deepkia's family yesterday got a phone call from her in-laws home that she got electrocuted while handling the heater and died before being taken to hospital.

Meanwhile, police have detained her parents-in-law and started investigation to the matter. The post-mortem report is awaited.

No reaction has been received from her in-laws side so far, police said.
