Kalahandi: Sesa Sterlite Ltd organized a two-day district level rural sports competition in partnership with the District Youth & Sports department, Kalahandi, at Lal Bahadur Stadium here.
Around 750 boys and girls from 14 blocks of the district attended the competition.
Srimati Majhi, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Kalahandi was the chief guest of the function and inaugurated the programme in the presence of Sukanta Tripathy, sub collector of Bhawanipatna,
Jalaj Malpani, CFO-of Sesa Sterlite Limited, Lanjigarh, Subhasis Nayak, District Sports officer, Kalahandi.
Srimati Majhi said about the importance of sportsman and asked them to focus more on sports to lift the name of this region. She also praised Sesa Sterlite to come forward in organizing functions like this.
Sukant Tripathy, sub collector of Bhawanipatna, said, “The district administration is so much interested to bring various sports men from the soil and always stands with the youths. All of us should come forward to help these boys and girls with sports instruments, kits and others.” He thanked Sesa Sterlite to be associated on this occasion.
