PM Narendra Modi arrives in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Odisha’s capital city on a two-day state visit on Saturday.

Modi flew from Vishakapatnam in a special IAF plane and reached the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar over half an hour behind the schedule. Though the Prime Minister was scheduled to reach the Bhubaneswar airport at 10.25 pm, his aircraft touched down only at 11.05 pm.

Governor SC Jamir, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Jual Oram, State BJP president Basant Panda, other senior BJP leaders, BMC Mayor Anant Narayan Jena, Chief Secretary AP Padhi and other senior officials welcomed the Prime Minister at the city airport.

After arriving at the Bhubaneswar airport, Modi drove straight to the Raj Bhavan where he would spend the night.

On Sunday, he will leave for the inauguration ceremony of National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) at around 8.45 am on the outskirts of the capital city. He will spend an hour there.

After inaugurating NISER, the Prime Minister will leave for Puri to have darshan of Lord Jagannath.

Later in the day, he will dedicate the 15-million-tonne IOCL refinery at Paradip to the nation.
