Odisha Budget today: All eyes on BJP CM Mohan Majhi’s first state budget

After the Union budget, attention shifts to CM Mohan Majhi's first budget for the BJP-led Odisha government, set to be presented in the Odisha Assembly. CM Majhi, also holding the state finance portfolio, will unveil the full-fledged budget amid high public interest.

After the Union budget, all eyes are now on the first budget of the BJP government led by CM Mohan Majhi which is all set to be presented in the Odisha Assembly on Thursday.

CM Majhi, who also holds the portfolio of the state finance department, is scheduled to present the first full-fledged budget today. The people of the state are eagerly looking at what would come out of the Pandora’s box and what would be the exact size of the state budget.

Many are keen to see what new schemes are announced by the Odisha government and how much money is allotted to the schemes. It is also interesting to watch how much money is allocated to each department. As per experts, the state budget could be a reflection of the ‘Sankalp’ of the Mohan Majhi government for the formation of developed Odisha.

The size of the current budget to be presented by the Mohan Majhi government is likely to surpass the earlier estimate of Rs 2.55 lakh crore, which was presented ahead of the crucial 2024 elections by the previous BJD government led by Naveen Patnaik in the vote on account in February.
