Bhubaneswar: The State government today announced a scheme for facilitating pilgrimage for senior citizens irrespective of their religion to places both inside and outside the State.
Notably, this was a commitment made in the BJD manifesto on the eve of the 2014 elections.

According to reports, the government would provide a slew of facilities such as special trains, medical aid and free fooding and lodging at the destinations.

However, government servants and income tax payers have been excluded from this scheme.
