Angul: Going by the free availability of fly-ash from Nalco, ever-expanding market for bricks made of the stuff, easy and attractive bank loans as well as government’s new guidelines and single-window clearance policy, about 100 fly-ash brick manufacturing units could be set up in Angul district gainfully, District Industries Centre general manager Nirakar Mishra said while speaking at a workshop here.

The workshop on ‘Scope for 100 fly-ash brick units in Angul’ was organized yesterday by the Periphery Development wing of Nalco’s Smelter & Power Complex here. The event was attended by Sarpanchs and enterprising youths from 20 nearby gram panchayats.

Nalco ED Sanjib Roy presided over the workshop and assured of company’s full support as per the prevailing government norms. Gopabandhu Pradhan, Ashok Patra, K.K. Panda and Sudhir Patnaik threw light on the technology aspects of fly-ash brick manufacturing. Anil Bhatt coordinated the proceedings and Rajendra Mishra proposed a vote of thanks.
