Bhubaneswar: The leopard, which was undergoing treatment at Odisha University of Agriculture Technology (OUAT) here after being rescued from Nakchi PWD bungalow premises under Athmallik Wildlife Division in a critical condition on Monday, died on Friday morning.
The leopard has fractures in its backbone due to which it was suffering from paralysis.
Later, it was taken to the Nandankanan zoo where the zoo staff conducted preliminary treatment. As the health condition of the leopard deteriorated, it was shifted to the veterinary wing of the OUAT on Tuesday morning where the doctors found that due to deep injuries on the spine, the leopard had gone paralytic and was unable to move its legs.
