Bhuabaneswar: The Commissionrate Police will apply for a 5-day remand of accused in fake currency racket Mohd Rubel, who was arrested in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. According to sources, the police will seek 5 days’ remand and will also send a special squad to Malda in West Bengal for further investigation.

Commissionerate police detained Mohd Rubel and seized 16 fake currency notes of 1000 denomination here on Saturday.

A resident of West Bengal, Rubel came to a mobile shop in Bomikhal area of Bhubaneswar with fake notes to buy a mobile phone. The shopkeeper suspected the notes as fake and informed Saheed Nagar police who swung into action and nabbed Rubel.
