Bhubaneswar: Even after 24 hours, the Commissionerate police remained clueless in the sensational doctor couple murder case which raised serious concern about safety of elderly people in the capital city.

Police sources said four special teams have been formed to probe the incident which occurred in the morning hours of Sunday in the posh Sailashree Vihar area here under Chandrasekharpur police limits.

Nine persons, including some part-time drivers of the couple have been detained in connection with the incident so far.
The police are focusing their interrogation on three maid servants who were detained yesterday on possible links in the crime.

Police sources said, the possibility of the involvement of outsiders who could have committed the crime in close connivance with the maids or drivers cannot be ruled out.

Yesterday, unidentified assailants broke into the doctor couple’s house and murdered them in cold blood during morning hours.

The couple - Prafulla Mishra, an ophthalmologist and his gynecologist wife Sushma - was found dead in their house.
Mishra was found strangulated with a saree while Sushma had been assaulted on her head with a blunt object. The double murder, which is believed to have taken place between 5.45 am and 6.15 am, has sent shockwaves in the city.
