Kamakhyanagar (Dhenkanal): Adding to the number of farmer deaths in Odisha, one more farmer died in Dhenkanal district on Saturday due to crop loss and debt burden.

According to reports, Sarat Mahabhoi, a farmer of Bijadihi village under Kamakhayangar block had grown paddy in his three-acre land this year for which he had borrowed loan from Cooperative Bank and local moneylenders. However, he sustained massive crop loss due to scanty rainfall for which he was under several mental stress for some days.

Family sources said Sarat fell seriously ill in the morning. He was rushed to Anlabereni Community Health Centre where the doctors pronounced him as brought dead.

The deceased died of a massive heart attack, the doctors confirmed.
