There is no one happier than Kavya Maran, co-owner of SRH, after her team secured the top 4 berth without a single ball being bowled. The Sunrisers Hyderabad got the crucial 1 point that they needed to reach the playoffs after rain played spoilsport for yesterday’s match against Gujarat Titans (GT).

GT, who were already knocked out of the top 4 race, had to be left disappointed after rain played spoilsport, resulting in the entire IPL 2024 match being abandoned yesterday. The game at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium couldn’t even see a single ball being bowled, leaving fans disappointed.

However, fans had a chance to witness a special moment after GT’s Kane Williamson chanced to meet upon his former owner Kavya Maran. Williamson, who spent a few years with SRH franchise, was delighted to see her again and what followed was a special hug.

The two shared a very special and tight hug, leaving fans hooting and cheering for them. Dressed in her usual saffron jacket and denim jeans, Kavya Maran looked as happy as ever. The calm and composed Williamson with long beard was all smiles as the two greeted each other.

A smiling Kavya could be heard asking, “All Good” while Kane asks her, “Kavya how are you?”

Coming back to the points table, SRH is currently the third team to have qualified for the playoffs with 15 points from 13 matches. The Pat Cummins-led team has entered the playoffs for the first time after 2016. Interestingly, they had won the tournament that year and fans are hoping, history might repeat itself this IPL season too.

Currently, Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are on the top position in the points table.
