Contractor’s suicide: IDCO recommends action against 2 CGMs

Bhubaneswar: IDCO authorities on Saturday recommended the Odisha government to take action against two chief engineers in connection with the death of a contractor who committed suicide by jumping from the IDCO Towers here in October.

The two chief engineers against whom the IDCO has recommended action are Ratan Agarwal and Gaurang Mangual who are presently posted as the Chief General Manager (CGM).

Earlier, the State PSU had suspended Jalaluddin Khan, who was divisional head at Berhampur, regarding the contractor’s death case.

Notably, Gajendra Nath Das, an A-Class contractor, ended his life on October 20 by jumping from the IDCO Tower. He was seeking release of his dues of Rs 1.70 crore from the State-owned corporation but in vain.
