Chit-fund scam: Kendrapara SP Gajbhiye appears before CBI

Bhubaneswar: Kendrapara SP Satish Gajbhiye appeared before Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for questioning on his alleged complicity in chit-fund scam in Odisha.

Sources said Gajbhiye was grilled by CBI sleuths for two and half hours at the agency’s office here.

After the interrogation, Gajbhiye told media, “I have no links with Seashore Group and don’t have any idea how my name was mentioned in the seized diary by the agency.”

However, the Kendrapara SP said arrested broker Shubankar Naik was known to him since 2008.

“Shubankar had given his identity as a journalist to me,” Gajbhiye added.

“I have given all the information to CBI,” he added.
