Jagatsinghpur: The Biswakarma (carpenter) servitors here are busy in chaupata (sizing the log) work, after felling ‘daru’ (holy tree) of Lord Jagannath last night at Kharipadia village here.

To witness the religious practice, thousands of devotees are thronging the site with ‘Jai Jagannath’ and ‘Hari Bol’ chants.
Besides, the construction of sagadi (cart) to carry the ‘daru’ is also in full swing.

Meanwhile, reports reaching here said ‘daru’ of Devi Subhadra is about to reach Puri and thousands of devotees witnessed the journey of daru.
