Bhubaneswar: It is indeed a rare distinction for the Oriya guy who is all set to rub shoulders with high and mighty at the Westminster Abbey congregation on 29th April when Britain’s Prince William with fiancée and long time girlfriend Kate Middleton will tie the nuptial knot.

Abhinash Patra is among the 1900 odd foreign dignitaries, politicians and celebrities who will be part of the wedding. Patra rose to prominence after winning the ‘British Author of the Year’ award in 2010. He was bestowed with the award for his books ‘My Dear Sweetheart’ and ‘The Separation of Godhead’ depicting the love and separation of Lord Krishna and his beloved Radha.

Patra had penned the books while he was a student at State University, New York.

The 21-year-old Oriya lad from Nuapada has been specially invited to deliver a 15-minute speech on Vedic rituals and Jagannath cult during the marriage.

Overwhelmed with the invite, Patra has got down preparing a speech which would leave an indelible mark on audiences mind.

“I received a phone call from the executive officer of Prince William on January 11 that I was invited to attend the marriage ceremony. And I want to deliver a speech on the Jagannath cult while attending the ceremony,” Patra said.

Besides Patra, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam will also make to the grand celebration.
